How to bet total

The total  (some people call it the over/under) bet is a sports betting wager that let's you bet on the total amount of points scored in the game.

Let's say that in a baseball game the total is set at 7. That means that the sportsbook in the casino or online thinks the score is going to be 4 to 3.
So if you bet the over you think that the baseball teams playing will score over seven runs. If they score eight or more runs you will win this bet because you placed a bet on the over.

If the teams scores six or less you lose. If they score seven its a tie and you get your bet refunded.

Now the teams have to score either a combination of runs or one team can score all of the runs.

For example let's say you place an over bet on the Denver Rockies vs Chicago Skyscrapers game. The total is set at 9. If Denver scores seven runs and Chicago scores four you win your over bet.

If Denver scores ten runs and Chicago scores zero runs you will win your bet because the total is still over 9.

Now the under is a sports betting wager that let's you bet that the total is going to be under a certain number of points scored.

Lets say you bet on the same game this time on the under. The total is set at 9. Chicago scores three runs and Denver scores one. You win this bet because the total of runs scored in this game is under 9. If Chicago scores five runs and Denver scores zero. You would still win this bet because the total is under 9.

Now if Chicago scores eight runs and Denver scores six you lose this bet because the total runs of the game was over 9.

If Denver scores five runs and Chicago scores four it would be a push or tie and your bet will be refunded.

If there is a total like 9.5 this just means that the total cant end up as a push. So you can only win this bet if the total amount of runs scored in the game is ten or higher if you bet the over. And the total amount of runs scored is nine or lower if you bet the under.
