How to bet moneyline

The moneyline is a another type of bet. To win this bet the team or player has to win the game. The favorite or the team that is expected to win has a minus in front of it like - 250. While the underdog or team the sportsbook thinks will lose has a plus in front like + 200.

Example would be if we where to place a moneyline bet on a golf player. Lebron Smith is the favorite at - 182. Versus the other player Oscar Norman which is the underdog at + 125. 

If you where to place a bet on Lebron Smith. You would have to bet 182 dollars to win 100 dollars. If Lebron Smith wins you get your 182 back plus 100 dollars. If Lebron Smith loses you lose your 182 dollars.

Now let's say you bet on Oscar Norman. If you bet 100 dollars on the + 125 moneyline you get 125 dollars back if Oscar Norman wins plus your 100 dollars. If Oscar Norman loses you lose 100 dollars and not 125 like the favorite moneyline bet.

You can bet on the New York Islanders Puckline at -1.5. You can pick over 1.5 first period goals. Or bet the total over 5.5 goals. Some sportsbooks have the puckline at -1.0.
