How to bet the Puck Line

The the Puck line is a point spread wager. Like the run line in baseball it is usually set at 1.5. To win this wager the favorite would have to win the game by 2 or more goals. The underdog would have to win the game or lose by 1 goal.

Example let's say a team named the New York Heat were playing against the The Dallas Show Stoppers.
New York is the favorite at - 1.5.

New York 4
Dallas 1

Since New York won the game by 3 goals. You would have won this wager if you placed a bet on the New York Run line. If you placed a bet on the Dallas runline you would had lost.

Now let's say that New York played Dallas on a different day. And Dallas is the underdog again at + 1.5. You placed a bet on the Dallas runline

New York 3
Dallas 2

Since New York won the game by one goal. You would have won this bet on the underdog.

You can bet on the New York Islanders Puckline at -1.5. You can pick over 1.5 first period goals. Or bet the total over 5.5 goals. Some sportsbooks have the puckline at -1.0.
